Merge/Embed subtitles to videos
As a new psp user, I looked around for the answer, but there were no single/simple/good command to achive this. I knew it had to be really easy thanx to mplayer and mencoder or other foss tools that are capable of doing nearly everything but there were all historical entries that included lots of command line args for tweaking the output video.
What you really need is one line:
Copy your favorite true type font to ~/.mplayer/ as subfont.ttf if you like, and type
$ mencoder -profile psp -o output.mp4 -sub subtitle.srt actualvideo.mp4
This’ll merge your heroes episodes with subtitles, which is what you ( or i ) really need.
See options of mencoder if you want to further tweak the video ( like compressing it more, or changing resolution )
